Discover Sudbury by canoe! The Great Urban Canoe Adventure
Sudbury – In July 2011, paddlers will be drawn to the City of Greater Sudbury for a unique event. The launch of the first ever Great Urban Canoe Adventure took place today at Laurentian University’s Jeno-Tehanyi Olympic Gold Pool.
The Great Urban Canoe Adventure – Saturday, July 23, 2011 Greater Sudbury will play host to the first ever “Great Urban Canoe Adventure”. This 12 km adventure race will take its participants from Bell Park to the Track at Laurentian University over a course that includes 5lakes (Ramsey, Bethel, Ramsey – South Bay, Laurentian, Bennett, Nepahwin) and 6 exciting portages. An outdoor adventure in the heart of Downtown Sudbury!
Sudbury – The 2011 Canadian Francophone Games are proud to announce that the great Franco- Ontarian adventurer Jean-François Carry will be one the honorary co-chairs for this national event which will take place in Greater Sudbury from July 20 to 24.
Greater Sudbury – The Greater Sudbury 2011 Canadian Francophone Games officially launched its promotional video Moi mes racines (I Have Roots) at Collège Boréal’s Jean-Watters Amphitheatre today. The organizing committee also unveiled a new activity guide for high school students, reported progress in its volunteer recruitment campaign and highlighted important upcoming dates.
Greater Sudbury – The Greater Sudbury 2011 Canadian Francophone Games are proud to announce Vale as the official presenting sponsor of the Games. The $75 000 sponsorship will help support approximately 1,200 francophone youth that will come compete at the Games taking place in Sudbury July 20 – 24, 2011.
“Vale’s sponsorship will allow us to invest in our programming and eco-responsible planning,” said Paul Lefebvre, Chair of the Board. “This will help make the Games an event that will be recognized on a national level. Vale’s contribution also reiterates its commitment to the community.”
Edmonton, August 16th, 2008 – The Canadian Francophone Games Edmonton 2008 are proud to invite you to the Closing Ceremonies that will take place on Sunday, August 17th, 2008 at 3 :00 p.m in Heritage Amphitheatre at the William Hawrelak Park.
The Closing Ceremonies will move you with the artistic performance of the dance troupe Zéphyr as well as the musical performance of artist and spokesperson ZPN.
The Ceremonies will be hosted by Steve Jodoin and Renelle Fagnan-Roy, co-hosts of the Oniva show broadcasted on Radio-Canada, as well as Casey Edmunds of the dance troupe Zéphyr .
