Edmonton, July 9th, 2007 – In exactly 400 days, the Canadian Francophone Games will be arriving in the city of Edmonton. Easily attaining their first objective, the organising committee has recruited 100 dedicated volunteers. However, they still need to find another 400 volunteers in order to truly make the Games a success.
Recruiting one volunteer per day until August 14th, 2008 remains the objective. The 100 recruited volunteers are involved in 13 different committees. Each committee is responsible for the organisation of a particular sector of the Games, such as the arts committee, the sports committee, the logistics committee or the newly created environmental committee, responsible for making the Games green and environmentally friendly. People interested in volunteering can either choose to be part of the organisational process or simply volunteer their time during the event.
