WINNIPEG June 20th 2005 – The 3rd edition of the Canadian Francophone Games, being held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, from July 20 to 24, 2005, is expected to host over 850 participants, the Games Organizing Committee and the Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française announced at a joint press conference at la Fourche on Monday, the site of the July 20 opening ceremonies.
A total of 1 053 delegates, including 853 participants, have registered, just short of the record of 866 participants set in 2002 at Rivière-du-Loup. The 1st Canadian Francophone Games, in Memramcook, New Brunswick in 1999, drew 763 participants.
